With a meaningful event organized within the Faculty of Education of our university, the materials created by students by combining their knowledge and creativity were exhibited. The event, which was held under the guidance of Dr. İskender Dölek, consisted of student works produced within the scope of Disasters and Disaster Teaching, General Physical Geography and Physical Geography of Turkey courses.
In the event, the projects prepared by the students aim to increase disaster awareness, to better understand natural processes and to provide concrete examples of Turkey's Physical Geography features. Among the materials exhibited were geographical modeling, educational visuals, maps in the form of jigsaw puzzles and materials based on learn-by-doing. The event was attended by Veysel Emir Eke, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education, Ülkü Ulukaya Öteleş, Head of the Department of Social Sciences, and many academics.
Dr. İskender Dölek said the following about the event:
“This event allows our students to both use their academic knowledge creatively and raise awareness about disasters. By encouraging such activities, we aim to improve their problem solving and analytical thinking skills.”
